Common questions

Tap any question to open the answer.

How much does a local move in Odessa cost?
Local jobs bill hourly: two movers and a 26-ft truck run $139/hr, three movers $189/hr, four movers $239/hr, with a two-hour minimum. A one-bedroom usually lands between $625 and $950 all-in. See the local moving page for the full ladder.
Can you schedule around my oilfield hitch?
Yes, and it’s most of what we do. Leave your rotation dates with Annaliese and we load on your days off. Dispatch runs 24/7 for scheduled crews, so a two-week-on, one-off cycle isn’t a problem.
Are you licensed and insured?
We’re a Texas-licensed household-goods mover with US DOT and MC authority on file and $1M cargo coverage. Basic released liability is included at $0.60 per pound; full-value protection is an option we’ll price on your quote.
How much is the deposit?
A $75 deposit holds your date and comes straight off the final total. Approve your flat figure, put down the $75, and the crew is yours for that day.
Do you offer storage between moves?
We do, in our secured West County Road yard. It’s built for the gap when a house sells before the next one closes, or when a hitch pushes your move-in. Ask about short-term rates on your quote.
Hablan Espanol?
Si. Much of the crew is bilingual, and Marisol handles intake in English or Espanol. Say the word and your whole move runs in the language you prefer.

More detail lives on the home page, and long hauls have set figures on our routes page. When you’re ready, the quote form goes straight to our Odessa office.

Are you a moving company or a broker?
A moving company. It’s Your Move is a fully licensed and insured Texas moving company in Odessa, TX — our five trucks, our seven W-2 movers, our yard on West County Road. State HHG license and US DOT/MC interstate authority on file.
What does the $149/hr include?
Two W-2 movers, a 26-ft A/C-rated truck, blankets, shrink, dollies, e-track straps, basic disassembly and reassembly. No equipment surcharge, no fuel adjustment, no curb re-quote.
How is the deposit handled?
$185 against the signed binding flat figure. Credited on the final BOL. Refundable up to 72 hours before the slot — useful if the hitch shifts.
¿Pueden mandarme una cotización en español?
Sí. Travis escribe la cotización binding, el COI, y el contrato en español. No usamos Google Translate — el dueño es bilingue. Marisol contesta el teléfono EN/ES.
Can you book around my 14-on/14-off hitch?
Yes — that’s the whole point. Most Pioneer, Diamondback, ConocoPhillips and Apache crews want a Tuesday or Wednesday window the day after they roll off. Annaliese holds those slots first.
What happens if a haboob hits during my move?
Sealed-bag wrap rated for dust storms goes on upholstery and mattresses before the truck rolls. If a dust front is on radar over Loop 338 we pause the load until visibility comes back — never your dime.
Why summer loads before 9am or after 7pm?
Because the West Texas patch hits 100°F by 11am from June through August. Pre-9am loads or post-7pm loads protect upholstery, electronics, candles, and the crew.
What isn’t included in the flat?
Stair flights past three, piano work ($410), gun safes (custom), full Saturday pack-out service, federally restricted items (propane, ammo, open paint, plants in soil), and any apartment-complex dock-wait past 30 minutes.
How fast can Marisol get a COI to my complex?
Odessa and Midland apartment complexes around UTPB and Music City Mall usually turn around in 24-48 hours. Marisol tails the property manager directly until it’s in writing.
Do you do same-day Odessa moves?
When Hector or Roman has a chief slot open, yes. Call before 9am. Same-day work runs $149/hr; the binding flat figures only apply to scheduled jobs.
What about claims?
Federal $0.60/lb baseline valuation is standard; nine-month federal claim window from the BOL date. Full-value protection optional, in writing before signing. Travis handles claims direct — no third-party adjuster.
Do you move pianos, gun safes, and oilfield-engineer rolltops?
Yes — uprights, baby grands, gun safes, antique armoires, and the big rolltop desks oilfield managers keep. Walk-boards, e-track straps, stair-climbing dollies. Piano starts at $410.
Do you carry insurance my apartment complex will accept?
Yes — $1M cargo coverage on every load, plus a general-liability COI Marisol tailors to your property manager’s wording before move day.
Can you handle a long-distance move out of Odessa?
Yes — I-20 east to Dallas, I-20 west to El Paso, US-385 north to Lubbock, I-10 down to San Antonio. Long-distance starts at $2,395. Roman drives both curbs; no transfer terminal, no relay swap.
Our Wedge

Why The Permian Basin Picks It’s Your Move

Paperwork Squared Away

State HHG license out of TX, USDOT and MC numbers on file, $1M cargo coverage on every move — whether it’s a Mission Ridge duplex or an I-20 run to Lubbock, the legal side is handled before move day.

Hardwoods, Walls, Banisters

Heart-pine in University Hills bungalows, freshly-painted drywall in Downtown Odessa towers — runners, jamb pads and shrink go in first thing, before either mover touches a box. Same drill at both ends.

Oil-Field-Shift Scheduling

Both movers on your job are on our W-2 payroll, background-checked, year-round — not day-helpers off Craigslist, not a subcontractor truck. The brand name is the promise.

Flat Rate In Writing

You sign one number before the trucks roll out of West County Road. That’s the number on the receipt at the new place — no padded hours, no fuel add-on at the curb, no “heavy item” line that wasn’t in the email.

Four Lines, A Signed Flat Rate, And Travis’s Countersign

Travis pulls the calendar against the Permian Basin hitch-shifts and writes the binding figure on W County Rd letterhead, and the reply lands in your inbox — bilingual EN loads inside an hour, ES paperwork within two. No deposit, no chase calls if you walk.
