Hablamos Español: A Bilingual Moving Guide for Odessa Households

By It’s Your Move · June 11, 2026

In Odessa and across the Permian Basin, plenty of families are more comfortable handling a big move in Spanish, and there is nothing wrong with that. At It’s Your Move, Hablamos Español is not a line on a flyer. Our office manager Marisol Ortega takes intake in both languages, and crew chiefs like Hector Salinas run West Odessa jobs where the whole conversation, from the walkthrough to the last signature, happens in Spanish. This guide explains what a bilingual move looks like with our crew, so nobody has to guess at an English form to get their family moved.

What a bilingual crew actually means

Saying you speak Spanish and actually running a move in it are two different things. Here is what you get with our team.

  • Intake and booking in Spanish or English, whichever is easier for you
  • A crew chief on site who explains the plan and answers questions in your language
  • Your written flat quote and paperwork walked through line by line, sin prisa
  • Clear labeling so boxes land in the right room at the new house
  • Straight answers about insurance, deposits, and timing without confusing jargon

That matters most on the details that cost people money when they get lost in translation, like the difference between released protection and full-value coverage, or what a deposit actually does. We slow down and make sure it is clear before anyone signs a thing. Nobody should agree to a price or a coverage level they only half understood, and we will repeat it in either language until it makes sense.

How your move goes with us

The process is the same whether you book in English or Spanish, and every step has someone who can talk it through with you.

  1. Free walkthrough. We look at your home in person or over video and write a flat figure you can plan around.
  2. Book your date. A $75 deposit holds the slot and comes off your final bill, with no hidden fees added.
  3. Pack or we pack. Do your own boxes or add a full pack the day before, whichever fits your week.
  4. Load day. Hector or another crew chief runs the job, keeps you posted, and protects furniture with pads and straps.
  5. Deliver and place. We set the boxes in the right rooms and do not leave until you are satisfied.

Moving terms in English and Spanish

A few words come up on every job. Here they are side by side, so the paperwork never feels like a foreign language.

English Español
Quote / estimate Cotización / presupuesto
Deposit Depósito
Flat rate Tarifa fija
Crew Cuadrilla
Insurance / coverage Seguro / cobertura
Load and unload Cargar y descargar
Fragile Frágil

You do not need to memorize any of this. Our crew uses both languages on the job every day, and Marisol is on the phone if a question comes up in the middle of the move.

Why families across the basin trust a bilingual crew

A move is one of the few times strangers walk through your entire house, so trust matters more than a low headline price. When the crew chief can explain in your own language why the piano needs its own straps or how the coverage works, the whole day feels less like a gamble. Our people grew up in and around Odessa, and many of them have moved their own families across the basin.

That is also why we never hand your household to an outside crew or a load board. The person who quotes the job, the office that books it, and the movers who carry the boxes all work for It’s Your Move. If a question comes up in Spanish at 7 a.m. on load day, someone standing on the truck can answer it.

Serving West Odessa and the whole basin

A lot of our bilingual work runs through West Odessa, along the neighborhoods off West County Road and out toward the county line. We also cover Midland, Andrews, and the rest of the basin with the same team, so a family moving from West Odessa to a new job in Midland gets one crew for the whole trip, not a hand-off between strangers.

“A lot of families are just relieved when I show up and start talking in Spanish. They can ask the real questions instead of nodding along. That is the whole point.” — Hector Salinas, Crew Chief

Quick answers

¿Hablan español en la oficina y en la mudanza?

Sí. Marisol toma las reservaciones en español, y jefes de cuadrilla como Hector dirigen la mudanza en español. Usted puede hacer todo en el idioma que prefiera.

Can I get my quote and paperwork in Spanish?

Yes. We walk through your flat figure, deposit, and coverage options in Spanish before anything is signed, so you know exactly what you are agreeing to.

Are your movers employees or day labor?

Every mover is a background-checked W-2 employee of It’s Your Move. We own our trucks and never subcontract your household to an outside crew. That means the same faces from the estimate to the final box, and one company standing behind the whole job.

Do you serve areas outside Odessa?

Yes, we run Midland, Andrews, Stanton, and Big Spring along with all of Odessa. One bilingual crew handles the whole move end to end.
